Sorry couldn’t resist that one. Actually its not so much ‘upping the ante’ as ‘downing the annex’ as we prepare for it’s demolition a
nd replacement. Thanks to everyone who has got involved in clearing the annex. What a herculean task! We are so grateful to you all, and trust that the end result will be even more useful for the work of the Kingdom. Please keep praying!
We have a Youth and Children’s Worker
We’re delighted that we now have a Youth and Children’s Worker, who will be starting soon. Thomas is a friendly and gifted guy who is enthusiastic about the work and the opportunities here, and we’re really looking forward to getting to know him better, when he joins us soon.
Pray for the UK elections (& make the cross count)
Please be praying for God’s mercy and blessing on our nation as w
e prepare to go to the polls. God’s word urges us to pray ‘for all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness’ (1 Timothy 2:1,2). Please do also vote if you can. We want to be good citizens, while always remembering that our first citizenship is in heaven. Information which may help with voting is available through the Christian Institute and also Christian Concern websites. Make the cross count!
5 Truths to Live By
500 years ago this year the Reformation began, a mighty movement which cha
nged the church and western society dramatically. At the heart of the Reformation revolution were 5 truths (known as the 5 solas) which are just as relevant today:-
- Bible Alone – The Bible is our ultimate authority.
- Faith Alone – We are justified (made right with God) by Faith Alone.
- Christ Alone – Jesus Christ is our only Saviour, through His atoning death, once for all.
- Grace Alone – Our salvation is all of grace from first to last.
- To the Glory of God Alone – All the glory of our salvation belongs to God, and we should live our whole lives to His glory.
Let’s not forget these radical principles which take us back to the heart of our faith!
